Enjoying the spotlight in the past two weeks, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are geared up to face the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday’s college football schedule.
To the surprise of millions of college football enthusiasts, the Bulldogs climbed into the No 1 spot two weeks ago because of beating teams that were in the top 10 which included LSU, Alabama, and Auburn.
Then No-3 Mississippi State trounced then-No 2 Auburn Tigers on October 11 with the score of 38-23 through the leadership of quarterback Dak Prescott who completed 18 of 32 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown, while adding 121 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Mississippi State football has the defense and offense to dismantle the Wildcats in today’s match.
Offensively, Mississippi State averages 265.3 yards per game in passing and 264.3 in rushing. Defensively, Mississippi State yields 308.3 yards in passing and 120.5 in rushing.
Kentucky (5-2) is not a pushover opponent at all. The Wildcats can topple the No. 1 team in college football because they have the passing defense which yields an average of 181.3 yards per game.
The Wildcats were clobbered 41-3 by the LSU Tigers last Saturday. The rushing and passing offense were controlled by the defense of the Tigers.
If the Wildcats want to win this game, the passing offense must be able to produce at least 200 yards through Patrick Towles. He only completed 18 of 35 passes for 141 yards on Saturday.
Offensively, Kentucky averages 247.4 yards in passing and 168 in rushing. Defensively, Kentucky yields 181.3 in passing and 173.6 in rushing.
