The Philadelphia Eagles take on Washington Redskins on Saturday in one of the NFL games at the FedEx Field, Landover, Md.
Philadelphia (9-5) needs to boost its record to have a chance to be in the playoff. Philadelphia is no longer in control of its destiny in after losing 38-27 to the Cowboys last Sunday.
Mark Sanchez completed 17 of 28 passes for 252 yards, no touchdowns against two interceptions. Sanchez has been struggling in the last two games in which the Eagles suffered losses. According to the Eagles, Nick Foles will not be available.
Runningback LeSean McCoy rushed for 64 yards in 16 attempts. McCoy must be able to exploit the defense of the Redskins to help his team win the game. With the Eagles’ backs against the wall, the offensive firepower must be present to dismantle Washington.
Offensively, Philadelphia averages 266.6 in passing and 121 in rushing. Defensively, Philadelphia yields 257.4 in passing and 113.9 in rushing.
On the other hand, the Redskins are out of the playoff race and they want to explore the possibility of going back to quarterback Robert Griffin III. RG3 relieved McCoy, who was injured in the first quarter of Sunday’s 24-13 loss to the Giants.
For Washington, the quarterback has been the problem. Kirk Cousins started the first five games but eventually the Redskins went to McCoy.
Griffin threw for 236 yards and a touchdown in 18 of 27 passes against the Giants on Sunday.
“This is Robert’s team right now,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Monday. “From there, we’ll take it one game at a time and make our judgments and conclusions after that.”
