Timothy Bradley takes on Diego Chaves in a welterweight boxing fight on Saturday, December 13, at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Nevada.
After losing in a unanimous decision to Manny Pacquiao in April, Bradley (31-1, 12 KO’s) will try to bounce back and let his boxing career move. Bradley earlier defeated Pacquiao in a controversial split decision in 2012.
Bradley emerged as a winner in his fight against Ruslan Provovnikov in March 2013 and won a split decision against Juan Manuel Marquez in October 2013.
Without a doubt, Bradley, 31, was one of the most promising boxers until Pacquiao dealt him in their second match.
On the other hand, Chaves (23-2, 19 KO’s) would love to make his career last after losing to Brandon Rios in August. In that match against Rios, Chaves was disqualified because of excessive holding and sticking his glove on Rios’ face. Chaves was penalized in third and seventh rounds.
“He is a dirty fighter. In the beginning I didn’t think he was, but then I went back and watched some film on him and he is a really dirty fighter,” Bradley said on ESPN. “Throwing elbows and trying to scrape the eyes, rake the eyes with his gloves, pushing down on the head. He has a lot of dirty tactics.
“But guess what? He hates being hit to the body. So when I get close on him I expect the roughhouse tactics. Hopefully, we have a great ref in there that is going to take control, warn both fighters and keep control of the action. I am ready for that dirty stuff and I have some dirty tricks of my own and everybody knows what it is, so bring it.”
Tony Weeks will be the referee of the Bradley and Chaves fight.
Bradley vs Chaves live boxing fight start time is at 10:00 PM ET/PT. Bradley vs Chaves tv channel is on HBO
The boxing event on Saturday features also the fight between Russia’s Matt Korobov and Andy Lee for the vacant middleweight world title. To open the event, Mauricio Herrera meets Jose Benavidez Jr. for the junior welterweight belt.
