The Indianapolis Colts take on the Cleveland Browns in one of the most anticipated NFL games on Sunday at the FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland Ohio.
While many people want Johnny Manziel to start, the Browns are starting with Brian Hoyer on Sunday’s game. The Browns (7-5) are in a battle for a spot in a thick AFC North, which they are currently fourth.
Cleveland decided on Wednesday to let Hoyer as the starter. He has started all the games so far but was pulled out of the game in favoer of Manziel with 12 minutes left against Buffalo. Hoyer completed 18 of 30 passes for 192 yards against two interceptions.
The Browns started well at 6-3, but the last three games they were 1-2. Though the Browns are fighting for a playoff slot, it would be necessary for them to keep winning.
“It wasn’t perfect and he’s made his share of mistakes, but he’s gotten the lion’s share of reps in practice and virtually all of them in games and has us in the thick of a playoff hunt,” coach Mike Pettine said. “That, to me, was probably the biggest determining factor.”
Offensively, Cleveland averages 248.7 yards in passing and 113.9 in rushing. Defensively, Cleveland yields 227.9 yards in passing and 132.5 in rushing. The Browns have to deal against the passing offense of the Colts.
Indianapolis (8-4) has a total control of the AFC South with two games ahead of the Houston Texans. Indianapolis has the No. 1 passing offense in the league, averaging 326.1 yards per game.
Quarterback Andrew Luck has been so hot in throwing as he already had 4,011 yards in just 12 games. He is 81 yards shy of passing Peyton Manning (12,287) for the most in the first three years.
Offensively, Indianapolis averages 112 in rushing while 326.2 in passing. Defensively, Indianapolis yields 257 in passing and 107.8 in rushing.
