The Atlanta Falcons eliminated the New Orleans Saints in a 30-14 road victory on Sunday. Atlanta meets Carolina in a do-or-die for the battle in the NFC South division, the winner will advance to the first round playoff.

Matt Ryan completed 30 of 40 passes for 322 yards and a touchdown while Julio Jones had seven receptions for 107 yards.

The NFC South is on the line for the Falcons and the Saints. While the Saints (6-8) have a one game advantage over the Falcons (5-9), Atlanta wins the tie-break.

The Saints need to win the next two games to secure themselves of winning the NFC South. However, a loss will give an opportunity for either the Falcons or the Panthers to capture the division.

For the Saints, the game will be in the hands of quarterback Drew Brees who has completed 70 percent of his passes, producing 31 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.

Brees completed 29 of 36 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns as he navigated through the defense of the Bears in a 31-15 win. Mark Ingram rushed 17 times and 57 yards and one touchdown. In the receiving end, Jimmy Graham would be needed as he already accumulated 73 catches and nine touchdowns.

Offensively, New Orleans averages 297.3 in passing and 123.7 in rushing. Defensively, New Orleans yields 265.2 in passing and 133.5 in rushing.

The Atlanta Falcons are not out of the playoff race yet. The Falcons have to win their two remaining games, hoping that Carolina will lose one of the two games.

Atlanta missed the opportunity of winning at home last Sunday by allowing the Steelers to end up victorious, 27-20.

Matt Ryan completed 26 of 37 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns against 1 interception. Ryan has been playing well but the defense allowed the Steelers to dominate them.

Ryan had completed 65.8 percent of his passes, adding 27 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. On the other hand, Atlanta’s victory will depend on Ryan’s ability to sustain the offense.

Offensively, Atlanta averages 286.1 in passing and 96.7 in rushing. Defensively, Atlanta averages 292.5 in passing and 117.4 in rushing.
