No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels are on the verge of losing three consecutive games, but thanks to the schedule as they are up against an inexperience Presbyterian Blue Host on Saturday’s college football schedule.
Ole Miss football suffered back-to-back nerve-wracking losses at the end of each games. The Rebels lost to LSU, 10-7 on October 25 and they were beaten by Auburn, 35-31, last Week, which receiver Laquon Treadwell was running for the go-ahead touchdown when he was hit and tackled from behind. Treadwell fumbled at 1-yard line to put his team in jeopardy.
The Rebels chances of getting into the college football playoff was dashed by the eventual loss last Saturday. With a 7-2 record, the Rebels have to recover and they will have a showdown against Mississippi State on November 29.
“It is part of the game, and it stinks to see (because of) how much work we put in,” Ole Miss tight end Evan Engram said. “Especially guys like Laquon and Denzel, but we love each other and will fight for each other the rest of the season. In one play it could be gone.”
Quarterback Bo Wallace completed 28 of 40 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns, and added 61 yards and a score on the ground in a losing effort on Saturday.
Evan Engram had 123 yards in eight catches while Vince Sanders added 105 yards in six catches. To make it a troika, Treadwell caught 10 times for 100 yards. These three receivers will play important roles in overpower the Blue Host.
Offensively, Ole Miss averages 276.8 yards in passing and 149.7 in rushing. Defensively, Ole Miss yields 194.4 in passing and 133 in rushing.
