The Lions are known to have the offense with Matthew Stafford at the center and Calvin Johnson as one of the receivers. It is one of best start in the recent years with a record of 6-2 for the Lions.
Stafford threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Atlanta, 22-21, in their previous game. With the offense of the Lions beating the defense of the opposing team, the Lions would be difficult to outpower.
Aside from utilizing Johnson as the primary receiver, Golden Tate has become a key factor in the offense of Detroit. Tate had 55 receptions, fifth in the NFL and 800 yards, fourth in the league.
Offensively, Detroit averages 259.1 yards in passing and 79.6 yards in rushing. Defensively, Detroit yields 216.4 in passing, fifth in the league, and 74 in rushing second in the NFL.
The defense of the Lions has been instrumental in winning tight games as it slowed down the offense of the opponents.
