Alabama vs LSU Football: TV Schedule, kick off time, Scores and highlights

Alabama controls its own destiny into the college football playoff, facing three giants in the next games but it all starts against rival LSU.

The Alabama Crimson Tide take on the LSU Tigers on Saturday’s college football schedule at the “death valley” called the Tiger Stadium, at Baton Rouge, LA. This is not the game of the century as other SEC teams have already caught on the Crimson Tide and the Tigers. As a matter of fact, Alabama is second and LSU is fifth in the SEC WEST.

Coming off a bye week, Alabama has to take care LSU on Saturday, and against No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 3 Auburn in the schedule. Alabama’s schedule is tough and it has something to prove against LSU.

The Tide have captured the last three meetings starting with the 2011 season’s national championship game rematch, and both teams are riding three-game winning streaks.

”These games are traditionally very tough, physical games between two ranked teams,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said in one of his interviews. ”It’s certainly not going to be any different this year.”

Blake Sims completed 14 of 24 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-20 win over Tennessee on October 25. Sims has been confident with the offensive setups as he continually play efficiently. He has to find his receivers against the defense of LSU.

Offensively, Alabama averages 290.3 yards in passing and 218.6 in rushing. Defensively, Alabama yields 199.1 yards in passing and 78.1 yards in rushing, 2nd in the nation.

After losing to the Mississippi State on September 20 and dropping to Auburn 41-7 after two weeks, the LSU Tigers found themselves out of the top 25 AP Poll rankings. It was one of the low points of LSU in recent years.

However, LSU bounced back by beating Florida, Kentucky and then-No.3 Ole Miss 10-7 on October 25.

”I didn’t think our season was in trouble,” senior tailback Kenny Hilliard said. ”We had a meeting and we told ourselves not to worry. … We had to try to end up at 10-2 and see where we would be. Since then everything has been clicking.”

The Tigers will continue to utilize the rushing offense which racked up 567 yards in the last two games, 264 against Mississippi State. Leonard Fournette rushed 13 times for 113 yards while Terrence Magee added 74 yards in 12 carries. Moreover, Hilliard had 63 yards in 12 rushes.

Offensively, LSU averages 188.6 yards in passing and 225.7 in rushing. Defensively, LSU yields 158.4 yards in passing and 159.7 in rushing.

Blake Sims drove Alabama 55 yards in the final 50 seconds of regulation for a tying field goal, and threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to DeAndrew White in overtime to lift No. 4 Alabama to a 20-13 victory over No. 14 LSU on Saturday night.
