While the world waits for the biggest fight in the history of boxing between the Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao and the current pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mayweather Sr., has indicated that this fight is going to happen.
“Itâs gonna happen. That fightâs gonna happen. Trust me,” Floyd Mayweather Sr. told fighthype.com. “That fightâs definitely gonna happen. Itâs a fight for the world, man, right there. Itâs the biggest fight that has ever been in life, so like I said, man, that fightâs gonna happen.”
He also said, “Well, a lot of people are going to say, “Floyd was scared of Pacquiao. Floyd was this, that, and the other.Floyd is not scared of Pacquiao, man. Believe me as I tell you today. Floyd done beat …that done beat Pacquiao. Whatâs his name? The one that knocked Pacquiao out. Marquez. How in the hell is he going to beat Floyd when Floyd took Marquez to school. I mean, itâs just going to be the same thing. Matter of fact, itâs going to be easier because Pacquiao is tailor-made for Floyd. Heâs tailor-made to eat the right hand all day long. You gotta remember, Pacquiao is a southpaw. Heâs a southpaw and Floyd is right-handed, so heâll eat right hands and left hooks all night, and more than likely, he will be going to sleep again. Believe me!”
With the guarrantee of Mayweather Sr., the only stumbling block for the Pacquiao and Mayweather showdown is the fight on November in which Pacquiao has to win. A loss for Pacquiao would ultimately deny him to challenge Mayweather.
