Tonight, either the SF Giants or the Kansas City Royals will be crowned as the World Series Champions for 2014 as they will have a monumental Game 7 collision at the Kauffman Stadium.
The SF Giants had an opportunity to clinch the World Series on Tuesday night but the Kansas City Royals delivered one of the best postseason performances with a 10-0 win.
The Royals scored seven runs in the second inning alone to blow the game away. Lorenzo Cain started with a two-run single and Eric Hosmer who had a two run double.
Everything is on the line for both the KC Royals and the SF Giants. All cards will be thrown out by Giants manager Bruce Bochy and Royals manager Ned Yost.
Kansas City will start Jeremy Guthrie on the mound while Tim Hudson will on the other side for San Francisco.
Guthrie was responsible in helping the Royals in 3-2 victory last Friday in San Francisco. He played with poise against the hitters of the Giants.
Hudson, who is about to become the oldest pitcher to start a Game 7, played great also by allowing three runs and four hits through six innings.
”I’m no different than anybody else. As a kid, you think about it. As a big leaguer, you think about it,” Hudson said. ”You wonder if you’re going to have an opportunity to do it. Sixteen years in the big leagues, I’m finally getting that chance. I can’t wait to get out there and have some fun.”
While Hudson wants to get a sweet victory, Bochy understands that he has aces to play with. He can put Madison Bumgarner as early as he sees trouble. How about the option of adding Tim Lincecum as part of the Game 7?
In Game 7 of the World Series, odds are against the road team. In the last nine World Series Game 7’s, the home team won has won. This is the reason why the Kansas City Royals are the favorites to win the World Series Game 7.
