The St. Louis Cardinals will start John Lackey over the LA Dodgers on Monday for the Game 2 of the National League Divisional Playoffs at the Busch Stadium.
Lackey has proven himself as one of the best experienced pitchers, having two World Series rings, winning the Game 6 clincher last year against the Cardinals.
After St Louis split the first two games in California, Lackey will have an opportunity to break the tie when he suits up over Los Angles left hander Hyun-Jin Ryu. Surely, Lackey (14-10) would love to take this game into his hands especially if his fastballs work effectively.
The Los Angeles Dodgers were 0-3 at Busch Stadiumm in the playoffs last year. They were also shutdown twice and scored only two runs, with 16 hits in 31 innings. They were not able to have a home run. The Dodgers would be playing in a tough environment and they need to win this game.
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny wasn’t surprised Lackey didn’t take it well when he got skipped in September.
”Yeah, I’ve had some interesting looks and conversations,” Matheny said. ”Yeah, every time I go to take him out, I know it’s going to be something. He’s done a nice job of walking that fine line of making it known he’d like to stay in the game, but also not crossing that line.”
The Los Angeles Dodgers vs St Louis Cardinals Game 3 is very pivotal. The winner of this game would just need a game to advance to the next round.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs St Louis Cardinals start time is at 9:07 ET. Dodgers vs Cardinals tv schedule is on TBS. LA Dodgers vs St Louis Cardinals scores will be available here.
Who will win this game? Will Lackey be the “lucky” man?
