Northwestern vs Penn State football: TV Schedule, Odds, Point Spread and Preview

The Northwestern Wildcats meet the Penn State Nittany Lions in one of the Big Ten Conference games on Saturday at 12:00 PM ET at the Beaver Stadium University Park, PA.

Despite being undefeated, Penn State (4-0) hasn’t entered into the top 25 this week because of the weak schedule that it had so far. The Nittany Lions defeated UCF, 26-24, in the opener and in Week 2 they succumbed Akron in 21-3 victory. In Week 3, they narrowly beat Rutgers in a come-from-behind win, 13-10.

Fresh from a 48-7 win over Massachusetts, Penn State has utilized the pass-run offensive game with balance to gain yards. Quarterback Christian Hackenberg completed 12 of 23 passes for 179 yards as he dislodged the defense of the opponents.

Widereceivers Eugene Lewis and D Hamilton were combined for 147 yards in nine receptions for the passing offense to exploit the opposing team.

Bill Belton and Zach Swinack had two rushing TDs each and Akeel Lynch added TD to dominate the ground for the Nittany Lions. With a powerful ground game, the Lions are expected to make something to win.

Northwestern Wildcats seek to improve in the Big Ten Conference as they first taste the rushing defense of the Nittany Lions, who are No. 1 in the nation, yielding only 49.5 yards per game.

Trevor Siemen completed 15 of 25 passes for 117 yards to lead Northwestern in defeating Western Illinois, 24-7, last week. The passing offense played with such control and accuracy by not letting the defense of the opposing team to outplay them.

While the passing was effective, the Wildcats rushed the ball with force through Justin Jackson who had 92 yards in 21 attempts. Treyvon Green added 38 yards in 8 attempts.
