Ateneo Blue Eagles’ star Kiefer Ravena won the UAA Season 77 MVP which was announced Wednesday.
Ravena’s scoring prowess and clutch baskets enabled the Blue Eagles to grab the top seed in the UAAP with a record of 11-3.
Ravena led all players in statistical points (SP) to capture his first MVP plum with 77.6, besting De La Salle’s Jeron Teng, who came in close second with 68.2 SPs.
Far Eastern University’s Marc Belo was third with 61.2 SPs, while Ravena’s teammate Chris Newsome followed with 60.6 SPs and University of Santo Tomas’ Cameroonian center Karim Abdul completed the top five with 57.6 points.
Ravena led the league in scoring (21.2 points) and assists (5.6) per game. He also second in the steals (1.5) and he averaged 5.9 rebounds per game.
“The MVP won’t mean anything if we don’t win the championship,” Ravena said.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles have the twice-to-beat incentive in the Final Four by getting the top seed.
