Tayongtong delivers for EAC to overpower SSC
MANILA, Philippines — John Tayongtong led Emilio Aguinaldo College past San Sebastian College to a 71-56 victory in NCAA Season 90 men’s basketball Monday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Tayongtong scored eight points in the fourth quarter where the Generals outscored the stags 22-14. He scored a total of 17 points and had also 3 assist.
Jan Jamon added 16 points and Cedric Happi also contributed with 13 markers for the Generals to grab the easy victory.
The Generals now share the eight spot with the Golden Stags with 3-6 record.
“It’s good because we’re able to end the first round on a winning note,” said coach Gerald Esplana after his team improved to 3-6.
CJ Perez led San Sebastian with 18 points 10 rebounds 2 steals and a block but just not enough to lift his team for the win. The Stags suffered their 5 consecutive losses.
