The defending champion De La Salle Green Archers defeated the Adamson Falcons, 67-48, to capture third consecutive win in the UAAP Season 77 men’s basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Kib Montalbo scored 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field to strongly lead La Salle. Prince Rivero added 12 points and six rebounds for La Salle to take a commanding victory.
After letting the Falcons control the first half, La Salle coach Juno Sauler adjusted in the second half.
“We should’ve played with more energy in the first half,” said DLSU coach Juno Sauler of his team’s performance.
Meanwhile, Jeron Teng and Jason Perkins were having an off night when they went on for 1-of-13 shooting from the field.
“I saw the lack of energy from the first group which I saw with the guys coming off the bench with Prince, Julian and Robert and even Yutien with the eight minutes that he played, I thought showed a lot of intensity and energy on both ends of the floor,” Sauler pointed out.
