Mac Belo scored 12 points and grabbed nine boards to lead the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in a 85-71 victory over the University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 77 men’s basketball Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Coming off from the bench, Belo’s insin presence helped the Tamaraws in utilizing a 31-7 run in the second and third quarters to put the game at away.
FEU coach Nash Racela said that they treated this game as very important one especially coming off a loss. Racela couldn’t forget about their defeat to the UST Tigers 67-69 a week ago.
Mike Tolomia converted seven of his eight shots for 18 points and he added four rebounds and three assists.
The UP Fighting Maroons went on a drought in the third quarter by shooting only one-of-16 that blew the game for their demise.
FEU was efficient from the field with 56% shooting, while the defense was solid. The Maroons suffered yet another one-sided defeat going into fourth loss. The Maroons also are in their 25th straight loss.
