Eagles rise to contenders

At the half of the NFL season, there are tight races in each of the divisions. The New England Patriots remain to be to top team in the AFC after winning four consecutive games while the Philadelphia Eagles are the top contenders to play the Super Bowl as they have a 7-1 record occupying the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

The Patriots look sharp in the offense in the first four games but they are now struggling to get into the end zone. Though their scoring suffered, the defense was solid in denying the Patriots’ opponents.

Carson Wentz has been the key for the Eagles’ success so far. Wentz is completing 61.0 percent of his passes for 2,063 yards and 19 touchdowns against five interceptions. Wentz poise in the end game had put the Eagles into victories.

The Kansas City Chiefs are in total control of the AFC West with 6-2 record as the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland Raiders are not competing like the way it is supposed to be. Last season this division had three teams in the playoffs but it seems that the Chiefs are having a great start.

In the AFC South, the race is so tight as the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars are tied in the standings while the Houston Texans are just a game behind. Which team will come out to play in the postseason?

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers are clearly ahead over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North. The Steelers (6-2) have a two-game cusion with eight more games to play.

The Minnesota Vikings have taken the top of the standings in the NFC North while the Green Bay Packers are falling after Aaron Rodgers got injured. Though it is still possible for other teams like Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, the Vikings may have a total control of the division.

There’s a significant battle in the NFC South with the New Orleans Saints riding in a five-game winning streak after dropping their first two games. The Saints are half a game aheat of the Carolina Panthers while the Atlanta Falcons are lurking with a game behind.

In the NFC West, the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams are fighting for the top position as they are tied at 5-2. The Seahawks found a challenge this time around against the Rams.
