No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Florida State football game is expected to be the most anticipated because of their preseason rankings. Not only that, both schools have the history of being the best of each season. Absolutely, the attention of the college football fans are centered on this game. Though Alabama is popularly-known to be the most dominant team in the past seven years, the Seminoles is a big challenge at this early stage of the season.

The Florida State Seminoles are looking for a brighter season after finishing a remarkable 10-3 record, 5-3 in ACC, that translated into a victory over the Michigan Wolverines in the Orange Bowl. Without a doubt, the Seminoles will likely be a better team because of the return of starting quarterback Deondre Francois who threw for 3,350 yards and 20 touchdowns. One of the downgrade of the Seminoles would be t he absence of running back Dalvin Cook, who was drafted in the second round in the NFL Draft. Moreover, Travis Rudolph who outstandingly had 840 yards and seven touchdowns in 56 receptions.

If there’s an adjustment, it would be the chance for Nyqwan Murray to be the leader in the receiving department. Nyqwan’s ability to extricate from his defenders would place him as the top receiver for the Seminoles.

Last season, Florida State football averaged 466.4 total yards, 264.1 in passing and 202.3 in rushing.

One of the key players that went to the NFL was DeMarcus Walker but the return of Brian Burns and Josh Sweat will provide the defense stronger. Defensively, Florida State football yielded 349.1 total yards, 221.1 in passing and 128.0 in rushing.

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide are looking for the another national title appearance after losing to the Clemson Tigers, 35-31. Alabama football had a 14-0 record but failed to bring home the national championship game trophy with the loss.

One of the biggest challenge of Alabama would be to replace the 11 players who jumped to the NFL draft. Though the Crimson Tide understand to make the adjustments, this first game will be the litmus test if they have what it takes to be a title contender.

The good news for Alabama is the return of starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, who threw for 2,780 yards and 23 touchdowns against nine interceptions. He threw 62.8 percent of his passes with a passer rating of 139.1 percent. Hurts will have enough experience to be the center of this team on the offensive side. Aside from his passing ability, Hurts also rushed for 954 yards and 13 touchdowns in 191 attempts. Thus, the mobile quarterback will be needed to stay healthy if Alabama has to be in the playoffs. Alabama will have the duo of Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough this season. Harris and Scarbrough were combined for 1,849 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.

Last season, Alabama averaged 455.3 total yards, 210.3 in passing and 245.0 in rushing per game. Defensively, Alabama yielded a total of 261.8 yards per game, 197.9 in passing and 63.9 in rushing.
