The Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn fight is a done deal and is schedule on July 2 in Brisbane. After the negotiation to Amir Khan failed, the Filipino icon finally agreed to box the unbeaten Australian.
While Pacquiao longed to have a match against British star Amir Khan, the negotiation fell apart because of the time of Ramadan. Instead, the Filipino boxer and senator will face Horn.
Pacquiao is living a busy life that he promise not to compromise his legislative duty as a senator of the Philippines that the fight was decided to push through on that date because the Senate will have a recess from May 31 to July 2. Given the schedule, Pacquiao will have enough training and preparation for Horn.
Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight crown against Horn at the 55,000 seater Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
“We signed the Jeff Horn contract this morning. Fight is July 2 in Brisbane, Australia,” Michael Koncz, Pacquiao’s adviser.
Horn, 16 wins, 1-draw and 11 KOs, will have the home crowd advantage but Pacquiao is heavily prepared. According to a Inquirer, Pacquiao is expected to get at least $7.5 million for the fight.
