The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-0) are coming from a bye after impressively beating Texas A&M, 33-14, in Week 8 of the college football schedule. Jalen Hurts completed 15 of 25 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns against two interceptions to lead the Tide. On the ground, Damien Harris rushed for 128 yards in 17 carries while Hurts added 91 yards and a touchdown in 21 carries. In the receiving end, OJ Howard accumulated 70 yards and a touchdown in eight catches while Ardarius Steward added 58 yards in two catches. Calvin Ridley contributed 27 yards and a touchdown in four receptions.

The LSU Tigers (5-2) are coming from a bye week after beating Ole Miss, 38-21, in Week 8. Danny Etling completed 17 of 26 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown against an interception. On the ground, Leonard Fournette rushed for 254 yards and three touchdowns in 12 attempts while Derrius Guice added 20 yards. In the receiving end, Travin Dural posted 48 yards in four receptions while Malachi Dupre added 45 yards in four receptions. DJ Chark had 45 yards and a touchdown in three receptions.
