This is a rematch of the Super Bowl 50 in which the Broncos dominated the game without giving any chance for the Panthers to pull off a rally.

The Carolina Panthers are coming from an 18-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in a preseason game. Carolina rested Cam Newton as Joe Webb played the entire game by throwing 17 of 29 passes for 200 yards. On the ground, Cameron Artis-Payne rushed for 77 yards in 18 attempts while Jalen Simmons added 43 yards in 10 carries. In receiving, Brenton Bersin posted 89 yards in six receptions while Marcus Lucas added 26 yards in two catches.

Newton completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 3,837 yards and 35 touchdowns against only 10 interception last season. He also rushed for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns in 132 attempts. Newton will be the force to rely with for the Panthers to have a successful season.

The defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos are coming from a 38-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in a preseason game. Paxton Lynch completed 13 of 22 passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns against one interception. On the ground, Kapri Bibbs rushed for 51 yards in 10 attempts while Lynch added 12 yards in three carries. In the receiving end, Jordan Taylor posted 109 yards and two touchdowns in four catches while Mose Frazier added 79 yards in six receptions, and John Phillips added 20 yards in a catch.

Trevor Siemian has won the competition for the starting quarterback and Paxton Lynch will be the backup. In a new development, the Broncos have let go of Rex Sanchez to play for the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.
