Alabama football remains No. 1 in the latest AP college rankings

The Alabama Crimson Tide keep the position of being ranked the No. 1 team in college football Associated Press rankings. Alabama was the preseason favorite and many football experts are leaning on to Crimson Tide as the team to beat this season.

The Crimson Tide Tide got 21 first place votes to total of 54 after overpowering USC, 52-6, in the opening game last Saturday. The Clemson Tigers kept the No. 2 spot while Florida State jumped into No. 3 after a come-from-behind win over Ole Miss. Ohio State comes out No. 4 while Michigan jumped into No. 5.

Surprisingly, Houston elevated nine spots, from 15th to No. 6 after beating Oklahoma, 33-23. On the other hand, Oklahoma fell 11 spots after losing from No. 3 to No. 11. The Georgia Bulldogs climbed nine sppots from 18th to No. 9 after dismantling North Carolina, 33-24.

At No. 7 are the Stanford Cardinal while Washington is at No. 8 . The biggest dropped among the big contenters is LSU from No. 5 to No. 21 afer losing to Wisconsin. After Tennessee struggled to beat the Appalachian State, the Volunters dropped eight spots, now at No. 17. Notre Dame and Ole Miss also dropped eight spots each. Texas A&M entered the AP poll at No. 2 after defeating UCLA.

USC, UCLA, North Carolina and Florida were dropped from the AP poll. Despite of winning against Massachusetts, Florida was still out.

Surely, there will be shakenings and awakenings in Week 2 of the college football schedule.
