Tom Brady to play against the Carolina Panthers on Friday

The New England Patriots take on the Carolina Panthers in one of the NFL Preseason Week 3 games on Friday, August 26 kick off time at 7:30 PM ET, at Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC.

The New England Patriots are coming from a 23-22 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 2. Jimmy Garoppolo completed 16 of 21 passes for 181 yards and one touchdown while Jacoby Brissett added 87 yards in 9-for-13 passes. In rushing, Legarrette Blount had 69 yards and a touchdown in 11 attempts while Tyler Gaffney added 31 yards in 11 tries. In the receiving end, AJ Derby had 71 yards and one touchdown in six receptions while Chris Hogan added 53 yards in four catches.

Aside from Tom Brady being sidelined in the first month of the regular season, running back Dion Lewis will be a knee procedure that could take 8-10 weeks for a possible return.

The Carolina Panthers are coming from a 26-16 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. Cam Newton completed 8 of 12 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown while Derek Anderson added 118 yards and a touchdown in 12-for-20 passes. In rushing, Brandon Wegher had 24 yards in eight attempts while Jonathan Stewart added 10 yards in three tries. In the receiving end, Ted Ginn caught a 61-yard touchdown while Marcus Lucas added 39 yards in three receptions.
