Dallas Cowboys News: Dak Prescott is outplaying Tony Romo in preseason games?

Tony Romo might be losing his job earlier than expected as Dak Prescott is performing great.

Dallas Cowboys fourth round pick rookie quarterback Dak Prescott is making a noise because of his awesome performances in the two preseason games in the NFL. Prescott already had four touchdown passes and only five incomplete passes.

In addition to his passes, Prescott had also rushed for two touchdowns in the last game. While the Cowboys have already picked Tony Romo as the starter, Prescott might be winning the back up quarterback because of how he played. Furthermore, coach Jason Garrett might see something in the way Prescott plays that he would be willing to allow him to be the starter instead of Romo. Far from this assumption to happen but if Garrett thinks that Prescott has the best chance of bringing the Cowboys deeper in the playoffs, then he would insert him right at the start of the regular season.

Though the Cowboys are built on the leadership of Romo, many NFL experts believe that Romo is an overrated quarterback. Thus, it could pave the way for the Cowboys staff to turn to Prescott.

Even Jerry Jones admires the energy of the rookie quarterback.

“There’s an old adage that if you’ve seen it and you’ve seen it pretty good, well then you know it’s there, you know they can do it,” Jones said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “The question of many college quarterbacks is can they operate in the pro game, in the pro system. Can they not only function under the early, especially with our game, but can they do it efficiently? We’ve seen him do it at practice. We’ve seen him do it in meeting sessions. We’ve seen him carry that now to games. There is an energy that comes with him to the field. That same energy, surprisingly, comes with him to the classroom. That same energy comes with him in many different ways. You got to add that up. We are in a situation where we can have a developing backup quarterback because of the excellence of Tony Romo. We can have that behind him. To me, that’s what you’re ideally striving for. What we’ve seen so far in these first two preseason games does make you look positively toward his progress.”

Will Prescott be able to get the nudge of becoming the starting quarterback?
