Tour de France Stage 9, Results and Updates: Quintana has to gain time

Chris Froome and Team Sky ride for Stage 9 on Sunday with the yellow jersey to defend with and to keep throughout the entire race after amazingly launching an attack going down with 15.5 km to the finish. In what has many called it an innovation and extraordinary display of pedalling, Froome maintained his lead and eventually won the stage, gaining 13 seconds and 10 seconds bonus against his nearest rivals.

While Froome’s lead is not that much in comparison to what the riders could separate each others in stage 9, it showed that Team Sky has prepared unconventional tactics for the Briton to win another tour.

Stage 9 starts from the Spanish town of Vielha Val d’Aran and ending on top the uncategorized climb to Arcalis in Andora that covers 184.5 km (11.4.6) miles of journey. The first climb is at Port de la Bonaigua with up to 13.7 km from the star in Val d’Aran.

This Stage should fit both Froome his nearest rival last year Nairo Quintana. This would be the stage that could distance both riders and it would not only about 23 seconds in which Froome leads. While breakaway groups will try to keep their lead as long as they can, Team Sky is expected to have a high pace of pedalling to neutralizes the attacks of the contenders like Quintana and even Alberto Contador, who is falling behind.
