Pacquiao defeats Bradley in ‘final fight’
Official score – all three judges had it 116-110, 116-110 and 116-110 for the Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao
What time does the Pacquiao-Bradley 3 start? So the long wait is now over, as April 9th arrives we would get a chance to see Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley in their 3rd incredible face off on Saturday at Las Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena. This is not the first time we watching these two maven boxer in the ring, however this year’s WBO welterweight championship is really difficult to predict. Bradley bagged the winning title during their first fight in 2012, while Pacquiao cruised to his revenge in 2014 by landing 198 punches on Bardley’s 141 and won the fight comfortably.
This year is different, Pacquiao is on the urge of taking retirement from boxing and his performance is doubtful after his torn rotator cuff surgery in May. The 37-year-old fighter also claimed that this will be his last fight, so let’s see if he is still good at using his extraordinarily fast hands and pressure the opponent to fall for mistake.
Bradley on the other hand said:
“I’m a better fighter and I’m hungrier,”. “Manny’s had his time to shine already, guys. He’s been fighting for many years, he’s getting older now. Manny right now is only fighting for money, that’s it. He already has his place in history as one of the best fighters. I don’t.”
Although Pacquiao has outperformed Bradley twice in the history, this year Bradley did the right amount of work to defeat Pacquiao as reported to media. His biggest win was reported in 2009 when he amazingly won over Lamont Petersen. Technically this is a rubber match between these two boxers, but Pacquiao performed better in both the bouts. Even during 2012 fight, judges gave Bradley a controversial split but Pacquiao remained on the safer side as he delivered more punches in 9 out of 12 rounds and finished with 82 other power punches.
“When he’s throwing punches, he lunges in with the jab, to throw his power left. If you time that with a nice right hand, like Marquez did — Marquez practiced and timed that punch — that’s the way to beat Manny Pacquiao,” former Bradley trainer Joel Diaz told The Desert Sun.
Bradley at this point is more confident and believing it is the just right time to win over Pacquiao. This is the second fight with Teddy Atlas by TKO (his new trainer), after defeating Brandon Rios in the ninth round of fight last year November. Pacquiao is considered as all-time champion because of his punching power, but Bradley is the current champ and does have the power to pull off the Filipino fighter.
