Ramona Shelburne of is reporting that Odom is now conscious and breathing on his own in a Las Vegas hospital.

Odom no longer has a breathing tube, the source said. He is wearing a breathing mask and remains in critical condition, however.

Sources told ESPN that Odom’s condition had been improving slightly over the last 36 hours, but he remained sedated as doctors worked to make sure his organs functioned properly.

Lamar Odom is not dead as many might think. Former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom is in the news today after being found unconscious at a brothel and in serious condition, according to news reports.

Lamar Odom’s condition has deteriorated, and doctors are now telling the family the longer he remains in the condition he’s in the less likely it is that he will recover.
Sources tell TMZ, Lamar did indeed squeeze Khloe’s hand Wednesday night, which gave everyone hope, but Thursday morning doctors are saying it well could have been an involuntary movement.


While the Los Angeles Lakers are Las Vegas, Kobe Bryant and Mitch Kupchak have visited Odom at the hospital, according to Mark Medina, LA Daily News Lakers writer. Medina tweeted:

Nye County Sheriff Sharon A. Wehrly confirmed in a released statement to the media Tuesday Night:

“At approximately 3:15 pm on October 13, 2015, a call came into the Nye County Dispatch Center from Richard Hunter, Media Director for Dennis Hof’s Bunny Ranch, requesting an ambulance for an unresponsive male experiencing a medical emergency at the Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada, approximately twenty miles north of Pahrump, Nevada in Nye County.

“An ambulance from Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Service arrived at 3:34 pm and the patient, identified as Lamar Odom was stabilized and transported to Desert View Hospital arriving at 4:16 pm. Nye County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Cory Fowles and Michael Eisenloffel arrived and conducted an investigation on scene.

“After being treated by the physicians, arrangements were made to transport him by Mercy Air helicopter. However, Mr. Odom was unable to be transported by air due to his stature. He was immediately transported by Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Ambulance to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for further treatment.”

Lamar Odom was instrumental in the back-to-back championships with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010. The Los Angeles Times reports that the owner of the brothel indicated that Odom had been in a “somber mood,” and had not been seen with any illegal drugs. E! News reports that Odom has not regained consciouness and the situation “does not look good.”

Odom played his four years with the Clippers from 1999-2003 before playing with the Lakers for the next seven years from 2003-2011. He was acquired by Dalass in 2011 and ended his career with the Clippers in 2012-2013 season. Odom averaged 13.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 33.4 minutes per game in his career.
