MLB Playoffs 2015: Toronto Blue Jays play Kansas City Royals in Game One

The American League Championship Series features the Kansas City Royals vs Toronto Blue Jays in Friday’s kick off at 8:07 PM ET, at Kauffman Stadium.

The Toronto Blue Jays outlasted the Texas Rangers in five games in the ALDS. The Blue Jays are coming from a 6-3 victory over the Rangers in which Marcus Stroman pulled off one of the best performances by allowing only two runs on six hits and a walk in six games. The Blue Jays offense opened up late with seven hits as Jose Bautista finished at 2-4 with a homer. Edwin Encarnacion delivered a solo home run and Josh Donaldson helped the Blue Jays by driving a run and scored. The Blue Jays will start Marco Estrada on the mound in Game 1. Estrada is one of the pitchers who defeated the Rangers, 5-1, allowing a run on five hits over 6.1 frames.

The Kansas City Royals are determined to duplicate what they started last season, entering into their second ALCS for the second straight season. The Royals closed out the ALDS with a 7-2 win in Game 5. Johny Cueto allowed two runs in two hits while striking out eight in eight innings to get the win. The Royals offense exploded with eight hits and two walks. Kendrys Morales was hot by hitting a three-run homer as Alex Rios was 2-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run. Edinson Volquez will start Game One for the Royals. Volquez lost a 4-2 decision at Houston in ALDS and allowed three runs plated on five hits and four walks in 5.2 innings.
