Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: RB DeMarco Murray will not play against Jets due to hamstring injury

The Philadelphia Eagles will not get the help on the ground from running back Demarco Murray as they face the New York Jets on Sunday. The Eagles need this game to keep them out of the pit.

Murray will not play against the Jets because of hamstring injury. According to, the Eagles lineup changed Sunday morning and Murray was not included. The Eagles will play Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles to be the running backs against the tight defense of the New York Jets.

After leading the league in rushing last season with the Cowboys, the expectation is big from the Eagles. However, Murray has only 11 yards in 21 attempts with the spread offense of the Eagles.

Murray plays an integral part in the offense of Chip Kelly. It would be a dramatic failure for Kelly’s offense build around Sam Bradford if they will not be in the playoffs. A loss against the Jets would make the Eagles record 0-3 and it would be impossible to get back.

Will Kelly and the Eagles be able to find ways to alleviate the absence of Murray and to beat the highly-inspired Jets?
