Washington Redskins Rumors: QB Robert Griffin III RG3 expected to be traded, as coaches and front office want him out?

Confusion enters into the Washington Redskins handling with quarterback Robert Griffin III. RG3 might be finding himself in another uniform just before the start of regular season as the Redskins are reportedly moving on without him, according to reports.

The Redskins front office and coaches want Griffin III out of the roster but team ownership is reluctant in the plan. Moreover, it is being reported that the Redskins have the deeper idea of trading the quarterback but no teams are interested.

Griffin and Redskins mess started when the quarterback incurred a concussion during the Redskins second preseason game. After the diagnosis, his physician cleared him to play in the third preseason game but it turned out that he wasn’t actually given the signal to play. Thus, Griffin didn’t play agains the Ravens.

With Griffin on the bench, Kirk Cousins started for the Redskins. Cousins delivered his best and it seemed that he won the hearts of the coaches. After the game, coach Jay Gruden is rumored to make Cousins as the starter in their first regular season game.

One of the biggest hindrances now for the Redskins and other interested teams is Griffin’s contract, which is guaranteed for $16.1 million in 2016 for injury only. When the Redskins picked up the fifth-year option in Griffin’s contract in April, many expected it to tie him to the franchise through 2016. However, it was the other way around.

According to ESPN:

Even if ownership prevails and convinces the Redskins’ front office to keep Griffin, he is not expected to hold on to his starting quarterback job. The Redskins are determined to start a different quarterback on opening day against the Miami Dolphins, and Griffin’s time as the starter now appears over. The more significant question is whether his time in Washington is as well.

The Washington Redskins will be in terrible mess if the Robert Griffin issue will not be address soon.
