Dallas Cowboys Rumors: star receiver Dez Bryant scuffles into fight against CB Tyler Patmon, Tony Romo interferes

After the second day of wearing full pads, star receiver Dez Bryant and cornerback Tyler Patmon got into fight in Dallas training camp Sunday. Bryant and Patmon got entangled in the last play of Dallas drills for the first team offense and defense.

Because of the extent of the impact, Bryant’s helmet came off as he ran to off the line of scrimage and it was followed by Patmon’s helmet getting removed. Patmon threw a punch on Bryant before the wide receiver retaliated.

Bryant admitted that he got a little overheated with the fellow Oklahoma State player. Bryant added, “At the end of the day he wasn’t going to back down and I wasn’t going to back down and you seen us: We shook hands, we hugged and we respect one another. ”

However, Bryant continually kept going after Patmon after the play as the third-team offense and defense worked through the final eight plays. While his teammates, coaches and other Dallas Cowboys’ personnel couldn’t keep Bryant at a distance.

Bryant started to move back when quarterback Tony Romo entered the scene. Of course, several fans didn’t want what they saw and they yelled and booed at Bryant.

“Oh, man, it’s just brothers,” Patmon said. “Brothers fight. It’s just what happens sometimes. So we go out at, we squashed and it’s over.”

After returning to the field of his own accord to speak to the media, Bryant said he liked Patmon’s reaction.

“It’s going on with 31 other teams, too,” tight end Jason Witten said. “It’s competition. You go through it and you get it worked out in the locker room and it’s all fine. You guys are acting like a bunch of kids at the circus trying to get it. I mean, it’s training camp. We all got a shirt that says ‘Fight.’

“Competition, that’s what it’s all about,” Witten added. “Nobody competes more than Dez Bryant.”

This is a good start for the Cowboys. It means that they are going to be physical in the coming NFL 2015 Season.
