Green Bay Packers vs New England Patriots NFL Preseason Info: Tom Brady faces Aaron Rodgers

Tom Brady surprised the fans when he started the preseason game. He completed 1 of 4 passes before giving way to his backup. Aaron Rodgers has completed 11 of 19 passes for 117 yards. The Packers lead 3-0 with six seconds left in the first.

The Green Bay Packers play the New England Patriots in one of the preseason NFL Games on Thursday at 7:30 PM ET at Gillette Stadium. Though the NFL preseason kicked off between the Vikings and Steelers on Sunday, most of team will start their game on Thursday.

While the drama continues on the side of the New England Patriots on quarterback Tom Brady’s deflated footballs on courtroom Wednesday, Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers will probably take some snaps in the first quarter. Brady is unlikely to join the team as he is taking part for a possible settlement with the NFL. It’s a dream for everybody to see these two of the successful quarterbacks in the NFL.

After Rodgers, the Packers have three backup quarterbacks: Brett Hundley, Scott Tolzien and Matt Blanchard. We expect Rodgers to hand the ball to these quarterbacks after a series or two.

For the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick will start Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Lindley who was signed a couple days ago while Matt Flynn was released.

In that last pre-season meeting between the two teams in 2005, Packers starting quarterback at that time was Brett Favre, who completed 9 of 21 passes for 69 yards. Aaron Rodgers completed five of nine pass attempts for 52 yards and one interception. Brady completed 12 of 21 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown.

New England holds a 7-6 advantage in pre-season matchups against Green Bay. This will be the first preseason game Patriots face the Packers with Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers era. Including the preseason, regular season and postseason, Green Bay and New England have met a total of 24 times, and each team has recorded 12 wins.
