Canada takes on England in one of the quarterfinal games on Saturday at 7:30 PM ET.

Canada has not shown dominance so far in this World Cup, but the team already surpassed the nation’s expectations, winning its group and entering into the quarterfinals. The Canadians will face their most difficult and biggest test yet against England.

The Britons played mediocre against France and Mexico in their first two games, but they stepped up in the last group game, beating Colombia. Against Colombia, the Britons played their best performance, even overpowering former World Cup winner Norway in an upset.

Both teams have played great defenses and they exerted much effort in that area. However, their offenses didn’t make it impressive to the eyes of the millions of fans.

Expect Diana Matheson to play her best for Canada, however, she may not play the entire 90 minutes. If Matheson will be limited in minutes, the presence of Sophie Schmidt would be crucial as she takes the shoes of Matheson.

This game could easily go either way, with England being the slight favorites due to their higher World Ranking, but Canada having the edge by being the host nation and being able to play in front of thousands of fanatical home fans.
