College World Series 2015 Florida vs Miami Online Coverage, Preview

Will the Hurricanes be able to overpower the Gators in the CWS? The Miami Hurricanes take on the Florida Gators in one of the College World Series games on Saturday at 8:00 PM ET at the ET at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.

Miami (49-15) will start Andrew Suarez (9-1, 2.96 ERA) at the mound. The Hurricanes will have their best pitcher throwing against the batters of the Gators. Also, Miami has the best contact bat in the ACC in George Iskenderian (.367) and best power bats in the country David Thompson with 87 RBI and 19 homeruns for the season.

In addition Iskenderian leads the Hurricanes in steals with 23. The speed of the Hurricanes can significantly be attributed to the four base stealers, Iskenderian, Charl Chester, Ricky Eusebio and Jacob Howard, who are perfect 13-for-13 on stolen base attempts.

Meanwhile, Florida will have Logan Shore (9-6, 2.50 ERA) at the mound. He will have to wark with J.J. Schwarz to thwart the base stealers of the opponents. Schwars is not that good in throwing at base stealers, with only 4-for-19. While many consider Swarz a liability in defense, his offense is the most dangerous in Florida.

The Gators have the defensive stuff to topple the offense of the Hurricanes. With shortstop Richie Martin’s fielding percentage of .974. Josh Tobias also is a great defender with 130-for-130 in fielding percentage. Tobias also leads the Gators with .373 batting average.
