The New York Rangers look for Game 7 as they have a 6-2 lead in the final period with 9:39 left. After a 2-1 lead in the first period and a no score in the second period, the Rangers have outscored the Lightning 4-2 in the third.

J.T. Miller and Derick Brassard have two goals apiece, scoring a goal each in the first and third period. One of them has a chance for a hat trick. Rick Nash and James Sheppard have scored the other two goals.

The New York Rangers face the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals NHL playoffs on Tuesday at 8:00 PM ET at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

The Rangers bounced back from a 3-1 deficit to overpower the Washington Capitals in the second round. They know what it takes to win on the road and to dig deeper to bring forth the best from them. On the postseason, Derek Stan leads the Rangers in points with 12 (5 goals, 7 assists). Chris Kreider leads in goals with seven while Keith Yandle leads in assists with eight. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist yields 2.06 goals per game with 92.9 saving percentage.

”We’ve obviously been in a few of these situations in the past and are very confident that our group is going to enjoy the opportunity and enjoy the challenge, get ready for it and come up with a good game,” Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said.

The Tampa Bay Lighting is this game away of entering into the Stanley Cup finals. Star Steven Stamkos knows the feeling of not getting into the Stanley Cup Finals by going this far. The Lightning were in this situation four years ago but they failed to enter into the biggest stage of the NHL.

”You kind of have to realize where you are and kind of use that as a little bit of motivation,” Stamkos said. ”The harsh reality is, some guys in this room may never get the chance to get this far again. Hopefully everybody does, but you never know in this sport.”

On the postseason, Tyler Johnson leads in points and goals with 18 and 12 respectively for the Lightning. Nikita Kucherov leads in assists with 10 per game. Meanwhile, Stamkos has amassed 17 points (7 goals and 10 assists) to help the Lightning. Goalie Ben Bishop was superb in the previous game as he shut down the offense of the Rangers. Bishop yields 2.08 goals per game with 92.2 saving percentage.
