LA Lakers Free Agency Rumors: Kevin Love and Rajon Rondo to play with the Lakers?

Rajon Rondo is certainly out of the Dallas Mavericks while Kevin Love is out for four to six months after a dislocated shoulder. Both players will be “unrestricted free agents”. The probability that both Rondo and Love will be in the Lakers uniform is unfathomable.

The Los Angeles Lakers are tired of not getting into the playoffs, which is not the tradition of the team. In connection with this, the Lakers are expected to acquire players that would help Kobe Bryant having a chance to capture his sixth ring.

ESPN analyst and former NBA player Jalen Rose admitted that Kevin Love and Rajon Rondo will both sign with the LA Lakers as free agents in July. While the Lakers seek to establish their presence in the NBA next season, Love and Rondo are needed.

“Kevin Love will be one and done with the Cavs…I think he and Rajon Rondo will be Lakers next year, ” Rose said on Grantland podcast Thursday. Rose will be known a prophet if he would be right in this matter. In order for Rose’s prediction to play out, there are things to happen.

Kevin Love’s season with the Cavaliers is not as productive when he was with the Timberwolves. Love is averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds, that even Pau Gasol’s numbers are better.

Love’s situation with the Cavs is not satisfying to him, unless he would be given a better role next season. With LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in the line up, Love will always be the third option. His role would be like Chris Bosh in Miami Heat with Dwayne Wade and James.

Meanwhile, Rondo is not playing to the max with the Mavericks. His altercation with coach Rick Carlisle several weeks ago might be the indication that Rondo will not stay beyond this season. Rondo will be an integral part in the Lakers offense if he decides to play with them.

The Lakers have around $19-20 million to spend in free agency. Absolutely, the Lakers will take everything into considerations. Rumors on Love and Rondo will exist, and even becomes hotter after the playoffs.
