NBA MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are looking to enter into the NBA Finals when the two teams face each other in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night. A Warriors victory would send them into the Finals for the first time since 1975 and would allow the fans to see the explosiveness of Curry and LeBron James.

”We just don’t want to come back to Houston,” Warriors guard Klay Thompson said. ”It’s not going to be easy. They are here for a reason. We have to come and play with more intensity and play together and we’ll win the game.”

Curry will play Game 5 with protective sleeve on his arm to protect an elbow injury incurred on Monday. Curry jumped in the air as Trevor Ariza started to shoot a layup midway through the second quarter in Game 4. Ariza saw him and stopped abruptly, causing Curry to tumble over him. Curry hit the floor and the medical staff of the two teams went over to check on Curry. Good news, Curry did not suffer a concussion and he played in the third quarter. Curry scored only 24 points in Game 4.

On the postseason, Curry averages 29.4 points and 6.4 rebounds to lead the Warriors in both categories. Draymond Green averages 10.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals to lead his team in both categories. Five players are scoring at least 10.4 points for the Warriors in the playoffs, they are: Curry (29.4), Klay Thompson (19.7), Green (14.4), Harrison Barnes (10.4).

The Houston Rockets will need a complete cohesive effort to extend the series into Game 6. James Harden scored 45 points for the Rockets to pull off a 128-115 victory on Game 4. The Rockets scored 45 points in the first quarter alone to jumpstart a strong night. With their experience with the Clippers, down 3-1, the Rockets aim to bring the series back to Houston on Friday night for Game 6.

Upon the review of the NBA on Dwight Howard’s flagrant-1 call in Game 4, the call was upheld, and the center will play in Game 5. There was speculation that Howard should have called for flagrant-2 which would force him to sit out one game for suspension.

On the postseason, Harden averages 28.0 points and 7.7 rebounds to lead the Rockets in both categories. Howard averages 13.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocks to lead his team in both categories. Six players are scoring at least 10.8 points for the Rockets in the playoffs, they are: Harden (28.0), Howard (16.3), Josh Smith (13.6), Trevor Ariza (13.1), Corey Brewer (10.9) and Terrence Jones (10.8).
