Cleveland Cavs vs Chicago Bulls Scores and Updates Game 6: TV Schedule, Preview

Matthew Dellavedova scored 19 points and Tristan Thompson added 13 points and 17 rebounds to help the Cavaliers advance to the conference finals by beating the Chicago Bulls 94-73 on Thursday.

The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled off a 20-4 run over the Bulls in the last 6:30 minutes of the second quarter to have a 58-44 lead at halftime.

Iman Shumpert scored 11 points and Tristan Thompson added 10 points for the Cavaliers as they are fired up after Kyrie Irving was injured. Irving’s status is probable.

LeBRon James had six points, four rebounds and seven assists for the Cavaliers. James is the facilitator in the second quarter.

For the Bulls, Derrick Rose has 12 points but Jimmy Butler has struggled with only six points at the half.


The Chicago Bulls host the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal round on Thursday at 8:00 PM ET at the United Center, Chicago, Illinois.

Trailing 3-2 in the series, the Bulls want to extend it to Game 7. Pau Gasol, who didn’t play in Game 4 and 5, is expected to be in uniform to help the Bulls in both ends of the floor. Gasol’s defense, rebounding prowess and scoring ability are needed to topple the Cavs.

Jimmy Butler had 29 points, nine rebounds and three assists to lead the Bulls in Game 5. Derrick Rose added 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists but the Bulls couldn’t get back into the game after trailing 17 points early in the fourth.

“It’s all about getting this win on Thursday with the same group of guys we have,” Butler said. “I won’t say we’re desperate, but we know what we have to do. Take care of business at home and then get Game 7 on the road.”

On the postseason, Butler averages 23.2 points and 2.5 assists to lead the Bulls in both categories. Meanwhile Derrick Rose averages 20.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Pau Gasol averages 15.1 points and 9.9 rebounds in the first nine games of the playoffs.

For the Cavaliers, this is the game to show forth what they got on the road. They beat the Bulls on the road in Game 4 through the buzzer-beater shot of LeBron James, who has been unstoppable in the series. James had 38 points, 12 rebounds and six assists plus no turnovers to lead the Cavaliers in a 106-101 victory in Game 5.

“I never pat myself on the back ever, but I will now,” James said.

The Cavaliers have to deal against the presence of Gasol in the opposing team. It’s a matter of playing the best of that the Cavaliers have to close out the series. Surely, James will have to work harder in Game 6 to keep the Cavaliers afloat in the fourth quarter in which they can steal the game.

On the postseason, James averages 27.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 2.1 steals to lead the Cavs in all those categories. Timofey Mozgov leads in blocks with 2.3 per game. Kyrie Irving contributes 21.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists. J.R. Smith averages 11.1 points while Iman Shumper averages 10.1 points.
