Preview:
The Atlanta Hawks take on the Washington Wizards in Game 4 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal round on Monday at 7:00 PM ET at the Verizon Center, Washington, District of Columbia.

The Hawks seek to tie the series after a disappointing 103-101 loss on Saturday night in which they were beaten by a banked shot at the buzzer by Paul Pierce. The No. 1 seed in the East will try to avoid a 1-3 slide, which would be considered a difficult thing to overcome.

Jeff Teague had 18 points, four rebounds and seven assists for the Hawks in Game 3 but the numbers were not enough to pull off a victory. Paul Millsap, who usually averaged in double-double, had only eight points and two rebounds.

On the season, the Hawks are averaging 102.5 points, 40.6 rebounds and 25.7 assists. Defensively, the Hawks are yielding 97.1 points per game against the opposing teams.

On the postseason, DeMarre Carroll averages 18.3 points while Teague averages 13.7 points and 7.7 assists. Al Horford leads in rebounds and blocks with 10.1 and 1.3. Millsap leads in steals with 2.2 per game.

The Wizards turned this series into one of the most competitive as they fought with courage and tenacity. Pierce was used of taking those high-pressured shots when he played with Boston. The 17-year veteran displayed his worth in that game-winning basket to lift the Wizards in Game 3. Without star point guard John Wall, the Hawks still managed to find ways in winning Game 3.

“We feel like it’s only us in the locker room who is going to give us a chance (without Wall),” Pierce said. “We feel like we should have won Game 2, truthfully. But even with John out, we still feel like we have enough in that room to win a game, to win this series. It’s not going to deter us from our goals.”

On the season, the Wizards are averaging 98.5 points, 44.7 rebounds and 24.0 assists. Defensively, the Wizards are yielding 97.8 points against the opposing teams.

On the postseason, Bradley Beal leads in points and steals with 21.1 and 1.6. Marcin Gortat contributes 9.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks, aside from his 15 point per game. Meanwhile, John Wall averages 17.4 points and a whopping 12.6 assists.
