Will the NFL impose a stiff penalty on quarterback Tom Brady? According to Miami Herald coming from its reliable source, the NFL is looking at one year suspension for Brady.

“Everything is being studied, everything is being considered,” an NFL source with knowledge of the disciplinary procedure told me Wednesday night.

The source said it would be wrong to think a season-long suspension will absolutely be the punishment doled out because that decision had not been finalized at the time of our conversation. But he also said it would be wrong to dismiss such an extended and seemingly improbable length of time as the ceiling for discipline.

After the “Fight of the Century” between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao that brought controversies regarding Pacquiao’s injury, Tom Brady, who was in Vegas to see the fight, is implicated on Ted Wells report on the deflated footballs used in AFC title game.

In the report:

“We have concluded that it is more probable than not that Jim McNally (the Officials Locker Room attendant for the Patriots) and John Jastremski (an equipment assistant for the Patriots) participated in a deliberate effort to release air from Patriots game balls after the balls were examined by the referee.

“Based on the evidence, it also is our view that it is more probable than not that Tom Brady (the quarterback for the Patriots) was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of McNally and Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls,” the report reads.

After the report was handed to the NFL, Commissioner issued a statement about imposing disciplinary actions to those involved:

“As with other recent matters involving violations of competitive rules, Troy Vincent and his team will consider what steps to take in light of the report, both with respect to possible disciplinary action and to any changes in protocols that are necessary to avoid future incidents of this type. At the same time, we will continue our efforts vigorously to protect the integrity of the game and promote fair play at all times.”

While it is clear that there are only three names included on the report, it is more likely that the NFL will discipline Tom Brady, who denied the allegation even after the day they beat the Colts in the controversial game.

Surely, there would be rumors about the extent of the discipline Brady gets or he will receive none. Brady has been the face of the Patriots, who won four Super Bowls with him.

In the report, good for the Patriots, coach Bill Belichick was not implicated at all. As the report spreads throughout social media, the world waits for the any Tom Brady press conference or statement in the coming hours. Were the text messages between MCNally and Jastremski enough to point on Brady as the mastermind?
