Thunder Rumors: Oklahoma City Scott Brooks to be fired for missing the playoffs?

The Oklahoma City Thunder organization is disappointed by missing the playoffs. Much to be blamed is on the head coach Scott Brooks in failing to elevate the team. The Thunder missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008, and the failure to do so would mean an exit for Scott Brooks?

The Thunder will take time evaluating on whether or not to bring Brooks back as the coach.
“Brooks is guaranteed for the 2015-16 season on his deal, with the Thunder holding a team option for 2016-17”, sources told Yahoo Sports.

While the Thunder have to watch the playoff instead of playing, in fairness, Brooks didn’t have Kevin Durant in most of this season’s games. Durant played only 27 games throughout and he was not part of the last stretch in which the Thunder should have won one more game to be in the playoffs. Power forward Serge Ibaka was not also healthy to provide help for the ailing Thunder, who relied heavily on Russell Westbrook.

Brooks is a great coach, winning 338 of 545 games, .620 winning percentage in the regular season and .534 in the playoffs (39-34). Brooks led the team in the NBA Playoffs in 2012, losing to the Heat. The expectations grew higher for Brooks to bring the team into the promise land, but the Thunder haven’t gotten back to the NBA Finals.

Will the Thunder fire Brooks?
