Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rumors: Bucs to skip Mariota and Winston for Williams?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be select first in the upcoming NFL 2015 Draft. Facing the Buccaneers is a giant decision, but a big advantage, in which to pick between Florida State’s Jameis Winston and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota.

Numbers of Mock Draft sided with Winston as the No. 1 pick for the Buccaneers. However, nobody knows what the Bucs are looking for, a quarterback to build for the future or another position player that could help them get into the playoffs.

DE Leonard Williams name floats around in the NFL Mock Drafts as a potential No. 2 pick in exchange for Mariota. Assuming that Tampa Bay will not take a quarterback for some reasons, then Williams is the imminent choice.

Selecting Jameis Winston as the No. 1 pick can be troublesome for the Buccaneers. Winston’s past still haunts him even today as his accuser of rape continues to emerge. On Thursday, Erica Kinsman, the woman who has accused Winston of rape, filed a civil lawsuit against Winston. Because of the recent development on Winston, the Buccaneers organization will take a lot of risk in acquiring him. Winston could be a destruction next season.

By taking out Winston in the conversation, Tampa Bay will have to decide Mariota or Williams. Though it is in the realm of possibility that Tampa Bay will pass on the two quarterbacks to pick Williams, surely, the fans would love to have either Mariota or Winston.

The Buccaneers need somebody for the future to build upon. Quarterbacks are usually the hinge to success, but NFL history tells us that great quarterbacks are not usually the No. 1 picks.
