Jacksonville Jaguars 2015 NFL Draft: Will Jaguars shock the NFL by picking Cooper?

As the NFL Draft approaches quickly, the Jacksonville Jaguars have the opportunity to build their roster by owning the third pick.

The Jaguars are not part in the buzz of acquiring Marcus Mariota, probably, because they have to pick just behind the Titans, who expect to draft Mariota. Assuming that Mariota and Jameis Winston are no longer available, who would the Jaguars pick?

While the Jaguars need a defensive player first, they might be picking Amare Cooper early in the draft. Jacksonville will use the mindset of getting the best player available first and not what the team needs.

Last year, the Jaguars surprised many by drafting Blake Bortles with the No. 3 pick despite of the availability of wide receiver Sammy Watkins. It will not be a new to many if the Jaguars will pull the trigger in grabbing Amari Cooper. The Jaguars were 3-13 last season and they need to rebuild to play better against the Colts and Texans. A wide receiver like Cooper is necessary for the Jaguars to build the future.

Should the Jaguars alter the landscape of the 2015 NFL draft again by selecting Cooper, teams will scoundrel to check their prospects, especially that a wide receiver would be drafted earlier than expected. Teams like the Raiders, Redskins and Jets will change their plan immediately.

When it comes to defense, rusher Dante Fowler, Jr. and Leonard Williams are the best defensive prospects on the chart. The Jaguars might pass on to acquire Cooper.

Cooper will surely improve the offense of the Jaguars. He will be part of the offensive attacks that would feature Bortles better. The wide-receiver from Alabama could be drafted at No. 3 by the Jaguars. Moreover, because of the teams desire to have Cooper, the Jaguars might pick him at No. 3 to use as a bait for a future trade.
