Dallas Cowboys show interest in acquiring Adrian Peterson

The Adrian Peterson story continues to play around since he was reinstated by the NFL last Friday. Rumors of trade by the Minnesota Vikings for Peterson floats today after the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders show interest on the running back.

Because the Vikings will get nothing if Peterson insists his desire not to play for the team, Minnesota might be trading him. Good news for the Dallas Cowboys who are looking for a running back that would fill in the shoe of DeMarco Murray.

Clearly, Adrian Peterson wants to leave Minnesota. On the first day of voluntary workouts, Peterson didn’t not show up with the team. Thus, Peterson has the power to control his destiny on denying to play for the Vikings.

However, the Vikings organization expected Peterson to be a no show but he should have decided to feel his presence by just walking around and holding some footballs.

The Daily Norseman reports that the Vikings seek for a first round draft pick and more if a trade is to be made. The Cowboys can offer the 27th overall pick for the exchange to have Peterson, having seven total picks.

When it comes to offering the best, the Oakland Raiders can trade their fourth overall pick, the highest, and one from each round.

If the Vikings have to deal Peterson, then they have the wisdom on weighing all those offers. In terms of interest, the Cowboys might offer more than the 27th pick just to lure the Vikings to give up on Peterson.

To compete for the season, Dallas needs a running back that is proven and tested like Peterson. The Dallas Cowboys are one of the best teams in the NFC that have a chance to be back in the playoffs. Peterson is in the sight.
