Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Cowboys interested in Adrian Peterson, but at what cost?

The Dallas Cowboys is one of the six teams that express interest in acquiring running back Adrian Peterson. The Vikings are more than willing to trade him in the next 10 days.

Adrian Peterson’s worth as a running back has not dissipated after being sidelined by the NFL throughout the 2014 season. As the NFL reinstated Peterson on Friday, the Dallas Cowboys have the interest on the Vikings running back.

Rumors are floating around that the Cowboys might be acquiring Peterson through a trade. The Cowboys would love to have Peterson after letting go of Demarco Murray, who took a leap in his performance last season. In the offense of the Cowboys, there’s a void at the running back position that probably Peterson can fill.

A healthy Peterson wracked up to 2,097 yards in 2012 season, with an average of 6.0 yards per carry. Peterson accumulated only 1,266 yards in 2013 while playing in 14 games. Last season, the running back only played for one game.

DeMarco Murray garnered about 1,845 yards in 16 games for the Cowboys last season. Murray averaged 4.7 yards per carry and with 28 touchdowns. He helped Romo in an effective way by taking out some pressures from the quarterback shoulders.

While the Cowboys are rumored to be getting Murray, the Oakland Raiders are also in the mix of having the coveted running back. According to an NFL article written by Gregg Rosenthal, the Raiders have some interest in acquiring Peterson.

Peterson has numbers of teams to select from. Peterson’s best interest is to get out of Minnesota. If he lands at Dallas, then he would have a chance to get into the playoffs. Peterson can feature his skills with the Oakland Raiders.

In the coming weeks, the Adrian Peterson rumors will eventually fade. He will find his perfect team. The 30-year-old running back will be doing his best again in the coming NFL season.
