With less than 24 hours left to the NFL 2015 Draft, it is still unknown to everybody if Mariota would eventually be picked by the Tennessee Titans, who owned the No. 2 pick.

Rumors circulated in the past weeks and even months about many teams that are possibly taking Mariota for a trade. There’s Philadelphia which reportedly being interested on Mariota because of Chip Kelly, who recruited Mariota in college, and that his system fits the quarterback. Moreover, the Mariota-Chargers trade rumor in which Philip Rivers would be involved for the blockbuster trade. The Jets are also being rumored to have a desire on Mariota.

In today’s development prior to the NFL Draft 2015, Pat McManamon of ESPN reported that the Cleveland Browns have an appealing offer, giving up their two first round picks, No. 12 and No. 19, to the Tennessee Titans for No. 2. This is a surprise to all, knowing that the Browns selected Johnny Manziel as the No. 1 draft in 2014.

While the Titans want to have Mariota as the starting quarterback, it would still take a long process for Mariota to develop his skills to fit with the offense of the Titans. The Oregon quarterback has the skills to be enhanced in the next three years, probably, to bring the best of him.

Browns general manager Ray Farmer addressed Mariota and trades in general last week.

“I would go up if it was the right circumstance, and I would go back if it was the right circumstance,” Farmer said.

He added any trades usually happen on draft night.

“A lot of the scuttlebutt that you hear and the conjecture and the noise that’s out there, it changes the complexion of trying to get a deal done,” Farmer said. “If everybody thinks that you want something, your price just went up.”

Currently, the Browns have Manziel and Josh McCowan as quarterbacks for the next season. Adding Mariota makes the Browns more attractive.

With the public offer of the Browns, the table turns now for the Titans to think about it. Furthermore, the Titans would ask for more.
