UNC vs South Carolina: Women’s basketball Sweet 16 TV Channel Schedule, Preview

The UNC Tar Heels take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Women’s NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 on March 27 at 7:00 PM ET at the Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina.

No. 1 South Carolina (32-2, 15-1 SEC) has won its last five games, including a 97-68 demolition over Syracuse Orange on Sunday. Tiffany Mitchell and Alaina Coates scored 14 points apiece to lead the Gamecocks.

“we’re fortunate we only had to take a bus ride” and that even though they are essentially playing and “on someone else’s home court, I think our fans could make us feel very much at home , ” said South Carolina Coach Dawn Staley.

“We just need to be calculating in our approach to the game,” Staley said, “and that is run when we have the opportunity, and when we don’t, play half-court basketball and pound the ball inside.”

South Carolina is meticulous in its approach in play basketball. However, the Gamecocks will to everything it takes to win this game. Adjustments are expected to be made during the game.

No. 4 North Carolina (26-8, 10-6 ACC) has won its last two games, including an 86-84 win over Ohio State on Monday. Stephanie Mavunga had 27 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and four blocks to lead the Tar Heels.

UNC utilized speed in a fast paced offense to derail its opponents. Expect Mavunga to be the center of the offense of UNC. Moreover, Illisha Gray also is a key player to watch as she had 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the last game against Ohio State.
