PBA: Talk ‘N Text nips Barako Bull

Jayson Castro delivered his best by scoring 16 points and making two three-pointers in the fourth to lead Talk ‘N Text in overpowering the Barako Bull at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Castro’s scoring prowess made the difference for the Tropang Texters as they dismantled Barako into losing its first game in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

With the speed and leaping ability of Castro in driving into the basket, the defense focused on his inside game but he exploded outside the three-point line.

Tropang Texters’ Matt Ganuellas-Rosser added 15 points while Willie Miller had 11 points. Moreover, Ranidel De Ocampo had 11 points while Larr Fonacier contributed 10 points for Talk ‘N Text.

With more than six minutes left in the fourth, Castro scored a triple and Fonacier added his high percentage of three-pointer to separate TNT from a deadlock to 76-70. It was a fantastic night for Talk ‘N Text making 11 3-pointers against only three for the Barako Bull.

Talk ‘N Text import Richard Howell had 11 points, 18 rebounds and four assists to compliment the scoring abilities of the local players. Howell helped more on the defensive side of the game.

Meanwhile, the Barako Bull Energy couldn’t respond in the fourth quarter. Though Barako started it right with a 6-0 run, still TNT prevailed with a balanced offensive attack.

Barako import Solomon Alabi scored 21 points and grabbed 24 rebounds for the Bull. He also defended well with five blocks. Furthermore, Carlo Lastimosa tried his best to keep up with his 16 points.
