Ohio State vs Purdue basketball: TV Schedule, Preview, Scores and Results

The Ohio State Buckeyes meet the Purdue Boilermakers in tonight’s college basketball schedule at 6:30 PM at the Mackey Arena.

Ohio State (17-5, 6-3) rides in a three-game winning streak that includes wins over the Indiana and Maryland for a combined discrepancy of 36 points. Offensively, Ohio State averages 80 points on 50.7 percent shooting. With plenty of firepowers at the Buckeyes’ disposal, D’Angelo Russell leads the way by averaging 19.4 points while Marc Loving’s 11.7 points. Defensively, Ohio State yields 61.6 points per game on 39.4 percent shooting.

“You don’t know what you’re going to get on a daily basis,” coach Thad Matta said after Thursday’s 80-56 win over the Terrapins. “To turn the corner of 6-3 (in league play), from where we were, we doing a pretty good job right now.”

The Purdue Boilermakers want pull off an upset against Ohio State. This is the sixth time that the Boilermakers have to play ranked team. Offensively, Purdue averages 72.8 points on 46.3 percent shooting. A.J. Hammons averages 11 points while Raphael Davis’ 10.8 points. Both these players have been playing exemplary in the last two games.

Defensively, Purdue yields 65 points on 40.1 percent shooting. It would take a much effort for the Boilermakers to contain the Buckeyes.

“Hopefully getting back-to-back Top 25 wins will give us some confidence that we can compete with teams that I feel are NCAA tournament teams,” said coach Matt Painter,
