Hornets outlast Bulls without Derrick Rose

The Charlotte Hornets defeated Chicago, 98-86, through the efficient performance of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who had 18 points and 12 rebounds, on Wednesday night without the service of Derrick Rose from the Bulls.

Mo Williams and Al Jefferson exploded with 17 points and 16 points respectively to help the Hornets avoid their sixth game losing streak.

Though the Hornets played well, the game was totally centered on Rose absence due to another injury that could affect the entirety of the Bulls performance and chance in the playoff.

On Tuesday, the Bulls disclosed that Rose has a torn miniscus in his right knee and that he needs a surgery. The news disheartened and shocked the Bulls players and fans alike. Thus, Rose timetable is unknown and his absence certainly will destruct the Bulls’ ability to operate aggressively in the offense.

Pau Gasol played his best with 25 points and 13 rebounds but his numbers were not enough to produce a victory for the Bulls. Moreover, Jimmy Butler contributed 14 points for the Bulls.

Aaron Brooks scored only 12 points in a 4-of-12 shooting. Brooks started in replacement for Rose. Brooks was 3 for 8 from the free throw line.

The first half was tied at 44-all. The game was tight also in the third quarter paving the way for Charlotte to have a two point lead, 67-65. However, Hornets got together in the fourth quarter to take control of the game.
